PhotoCutouts rock the Royal Albert Hall!

We have made a face in hole version of the famous mural inside the Royal Albert Hall.

Photocutouts is proud to have made a large board for the Royal Albert Hall. Here’s the story behind it!

Visitors to the Royal Albert Hall in London will have seen a large mural in the cafe bar made up of the faces of over 400 stars who have performed there over the last 143 years. It was designed in 2013 by ‘Godfather of British Pop Art’ Sir Peter Blake, who famously co-designed the cover of the classic Beatles album Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.

The mural is a mashup of faces in a similar vein to the iconic album cover. With so many faces, it represents a great opportunity for some face-in-hole action!

We took a section of the mural that features famous faces such as the Spice Girls, Andre Previn, Stevie Wonder, Kylie, Meatloaf and Seal. Then we cut two face holes out and put it on metal feet. The idea is for visitors to the venue to interact with the board and take photos.

Here is the board we made being used by the RAH’s team on social media. Can you see which two faces are real people?

It’s quite a large board at 3m by 2m and is taken from a section of the mural. Can you find the section we used to make the board?

How many of these Royal Albert Hall performers can you name? Try the interactive version by clicking the image.

Fancy some fun trying to recognise all the famous faces in the original mural? Check out this interactive image of the mural which reveals the name when you click on a face. Or for a challenge, here’s a quiz where you have to name the faces. Try it, it’s fun! (Warning: you can spend hours doing this. We did).

Prost! Oktoberfest board available now

Oktoberfest face in the hole board
Beer, beer, beer! Oktoberfest is here!

What’s the wurst that could happen this Oktober? Well the best that could happen is that you throw an Oktoberfest party and include one of our specially-designed Oktoberfest face in the hole boards, the latest addition to our seasonal range!

THE main events is held in Munich every year is the world’s biggest beer festival, with 6 million people attending from all round the world every year? It runs for 18 days and over 7 million litres of beer are served, almost all of them pale lager.

Oktoberfest events follow the main Munich event all around the world, through to late October. So there’s still time to have an Oktoberfest party here in the UK, and the quickest way to create the right atmosphere is with our special Oktoberfest board for guests to poke their faces through whilst quaffing industrial amounts of cold beer. The photo opportunities are off the scale!

For an Oktoberfest party, you will need the following:

An awful lot of beer

A keg of beer to perform the ‘tapping’ ritual of opening the first keg of Oktoberfest beer

Some German sausages (You can find them in Aldi or Lidl)

Some huge glass beer mugs

Masses of pretzels, preferably giant ones called Riesenbrezen.

Some kind of tent or marquee

If they are willing, some busty wenches to wear the traditional Bavarian ‘dirndl’ dress and run around clutching an unfeasible number of glasses of beer

Food ideas include grilled chicken, Bavarian sausage of course, and grilled mackerel on a stick. You know, hearty fare to wash down with gallons of beer.

Breze oktoberfest pretzel
See if Aldi and Lidl have these too.

There’s still time to order your Oktoberfest face in the hole board from Photo Cutouts, just give us a bell on 08450 570321 or buy or hire directly from our website!
