The thing business owners and marketers crave more than any other is engagement. This means people interacting with the brand in some way, seeing it as a friendly presence in their lives, and talking about it. Engagement can happen on social media, on internet forums, in real life, on the phone, in blogs, and any place where people interact. This generates brand familiarity and leads to more sales.
Photo cutout boards are effective for marketing a business because they create a focus point for people to interact with the brand in the real world. We’ve all seen them around: a logo, a tagline and a mascot (think Tony The Tiger for Frosties) with the face cut out for people to put their faces through.
This is a great way for people to literally get into a brand. A photo cutout board is bold, bright and colourful and puts your brand right in front of people and invites them to play with it. It’s a photo opportunity many people can’t resist, and when they share their photos, guess what – there’s your brand in the photo!
Photo cutout boards serve as portable advertising hoardings that passers-by will see, even if they choose not to interact with them. So the brand has been publicised right there. Unlike simple hoardings, though, photo cutout boards are down at ground level and invite people to put their faces through the holes and take photos. It’s that extra dimension that makes photo cutout boards so effective in marketing a business.
They work brilliantly at trade shows, exhibitions, product promotions, external and internal marketing drives, and other events.
Custom face in hole boards steal the show across the country
Want to get people into your brand? You can – literally – with the ultimate marketing tool: a custom branded face in hole board. The public love to interact with it and take memorable photos that get shared online – with your brand all over the board. It’s a simple idea that time and again has proven highly effective. What’s not to like?
Here are a few of the custom boards we’ve made recently. These are all now out there in use, promoting brands and causes for a small financial outlay. They are weatherproof and hard wearing, so they can be brought out again and again for multiple events.
… but sometimes events are one-offs by their very nature. We made this one for a major book launch in Brighton: Bestseller Peter James’s Want You Dead. The location was appropriate for a book launch: The British Airways i360 tower on Brighton’s seafront. While they waited for their copy of the crime thriller to be signed by the author, fans could step into character and be photographed in the board.
This one was for fire and security systems company Schrack Seconet to use at an industry expo. The boards are brilliant at conferences and exhibitions because they draw visitors to your stand.
We made this board to support a promotion by Cussons Carex, who were offering half price entry to Alton Towers Resort with special packs of their product. The hashtags for the promotion are featured on the board to get people sharing on Twitter and Facebook.
Sea View Beach Cafe on West Runton Beach in Norfolk have been getting a lot of marketing mileage out of this board. Customers and public love to pose in it and get their photos taken. West Runton Beach has just been awarded Blue Flag status. They are proud of it and not afraid to make lots of noise about it to attract visitors! We’re happy to have helped promote their business.
That’s just a small selection of the boards out there right now promoting businesses. Tell your marketing department about photocutouts.co.uk or call us on 08450 570321 to start designing a promotional board for your company.
In preparation for the 5th of November, Standard Fireworks have commissioned two face in hole boards from photocutouts.co.uk for their Factory Shop in Huddersfield.
Visitors to the factory can put their faces through the holes to be snapped as the Standard Fireworks #BeTheGuy or a passenger on the Standard Fireworks rocket, and get the chance to win some free fireworks! In this blog post we’ll see the boards in use during Bonfire Night preparations and see how they have created a social media campaign around them.
Standard Fireworks are using the hashtag #BeTheGuy for their social media competition. Visitors post photos of themselves or their friends and family with their faces through the boards on Twitter using the hashtag, and they will be picking some lucky winners from those posts at random. Those winners will be invited to the Factory Shop to receive free fireworks to the value of their receipt during their last visit. So if you’re going there, keep your receipts!
The boards were used at a Huddersfield Town FC fixture against Derby County at the John Smith’s Stadium (1-0 to Huddersfield), giving the brand increased exposure.
The board have the company insignia prominently displayed: name, postcode, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram handles, and of course the hashtag #BETHEGUY which is instrumental in their social media campaign.
