We have made a face in hole version of the famous mural inside the Royal Albert Hall.

Photocutouts is proud to have made a large board for the Royal Albert Hall. Here’s the story behind it!

Visitors to the Royal Albert Hall in London will have seen a large mural in the cafe bar made up of the faces of over 400 stars who have performed there over the last 143 years. It was designed in 2013 by ‘Godfather of British Pop Art’ Sir Peter Blake, who famously co-designed the cover of the classic Beatles album Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.

The mural is a mashup of faces in a similar vein to the iconic album cover. With so many faces, it represents a great opportunity for some face-in-hole action!

We took a section of the mural that features famous faces such as the Spice Girls, Andre Previn, Stevie Wonder, Kylie, Meatloaf and Seal. Then we cut two face holes out and put it on metal feet. The idea is for visitors to the venue to interact with the board and take photos.

Here is the board we made being used by the RAH’s team on social media. Can you see which two faces are real people?

It’s quite a large board at 3m by 2m and is taken from a section of the mural. Can you find the section we used to make the board?

Or for a challenge, here’s a quiz where you have to name the faces. Try it, it’s fun! (Warning: you can spend hours doing this. We did).
